Robot Futures

Considering a successful future for human-robot interaction.

As a part of the robot innovation movement in Boston, Essential has worked across markets and across disciplines to tackle pressing questions about human-robot interaction questions. In client work and self-initiated studies, we’re forming perspectives on the design of appropriate, beneficial, and unique behaviors that robots can provide (and elicit) to inspire positive human interaction.

The work shown here illustrates some of the design issues we’re addressing – home robots that monitor and work for us, robots that play and teach, robots that collaborate and act as first responders, robots that address city and community needs, and even large-scale industrial robots that will fundamentally affect industry workflow.
